Cabo San Lucas is located at the tip of the Baja Peninsula. It is part of Los Cabos which includes San Jose del Cabo. These two towns are connected by the Tourist corridors. The tourist corridor is a 20 mile stretch that is home to many world class hotels.

What is the currency of Mexico?

The official currency of Mexico is the Peso. The Peso dollar has an exchange rate of about 10 MX$ to 1 USD$. This exchange rate varies daily so check with your conceirge.

You can pay for almost anything with U.S. currency. You may receive change in Mexican currency. ATM's are available at most banking institutions. However, we recommend using VISA or Master Card just to be safe.

Do I need a passport to travel to Cabo San Lucas?

U.S. Citizen

Yes. On June 1, 2009, the U.S. government will implement the full requirements of the land and sea phase of WHTI. The proposed rules require most U.S. citizens entering the United States by sea or ports of entry to have a passport, passport card or WHTI-compliant document. U.S. Resident (Non-Citizen)

For visits NOT exceeding 30 days: An original Alien Registration Card is required, along with a national passport (passport from country of birth).

For visits exceeding 30 days: A valid national passport and a Mexican visa are required for U.S. resident non-citizens wishing to stay longer than 30 days.

Canadian Citizen

Other Countries

To enter Mexico, citizens from countries other than the U.S. and Canada are required to present a valid passport which must be current up to your travel period and some countries are also required to have a Mexican visa. If you are departing Mexico for a country that has the passport validity requirement of six (6) months beyond the dates of travel, then that requirement will be enforced. You must also have a return, or onward journey ticket, and proof of funds to support your visit.
